2019 Masterclasses at Kristin

Presented by Gwendoline Smith  - author of 'The Book of Knowing'. Admission is free, but spaces must be reserved here >>

Have you ever wondered why you don’t seem to have any control over your feelings? How they can turn up and whack you in the back of the head when you thought you were having a reasonable sort of day?

Learn to understand the way you think, and you will create resilience and be able to deal with many of the unnecessary anxieties of life. Psychologist Gwendoline Smith uses her broad scientific knowledge and experience to explain in clear and simple language what's going on when you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious and confused. Based on the school of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, it is scientific and logic-based, but also straight-forward and practical.
Gwendoline Smith BSocSci, MSocSci(Hons), DipClinPsych is a clinical psychologist, speaker, blogger and the author of the books Depression Explained and Sharing the Load. During her long career she has been a regular speaker on mental health for television and radio, including Good Morning, Newstalk ZB, and as a columnist for the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly. She lives in Auckland and works closely with the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Education to provide guidance to school counsellors.
